Stampotique Designers Challenge ~ #105 Anything but a card!

Hi, good morning, it's time for a brand NEW challenge over at the Stampotique Designers challenge blog.

This week our lovely & very talented hostess Nellie wants to see your creative side and make something other than a card..

“When I participate in challenges, escpecially when I’m short of time, I tend to make cards. They are usually a quick and easy thing to make. So this week I challenge you (and myself) to make ANYTHING BUT A CARD for the Stampotique designer’s challenge. I made  a double journalpage in my little artjournal. I’m very curious to see what you come up with!

Great challenge Neliie!

  My tag ♥

I made a simple painty background using acrylic paints and coloured the images using watercolour paints.

Hope you can join in the fun! Remembering, the challenge will stay open until the end of the month & any stamps may be used. Two random lucky winners will each win a $30 gift certificate to spend In store, how lucky is that! Don't forget to add the challenge number along with your name when you play along. Good Luck!

  Happy creating, Gez

Tin man tag!

I am delighted to be sharing a tag creation today over on the Creative blog for A sprinkle of imagination.

I decided to set myself a little challenge to use up some of those little scraps I just can't bare to throw away which are lying around my desk and to also try and fit it into Vicki's 10 minute challenge over at the biskit barrel, yipee, I did... apart from the colouring.. that took wayy longer! However, it was a great challenge!

I started with a plain black No.8 tag and tore away the left hand side.. I then ran up the sides with the Chevron Glitz Design Roller Doodle stamp.. gotta love these!

The gorgeous Tinman is a  fabulous new design by Janet Klein and is available HERE when you scroll down the page, along with his cute friends..

The red chevron paper is from the Yours Truly paper collection by Glitz Design along with the little advertisment from the Ephemera paper and the little cut out hearts are from the Color Me Happy Hearts paper also by Glitz Design.

There are new products being added to the store weekly, so why not sign up for the newsletter, details in the left hand column of the home page HERE!

Thank you for calling, happy creating, Gez oxox

Midnight in Paris?

Good morning, I am delighted to be able to share a tag I made for my daughter.. we are in the process of deciding whether to visit Paris or Florence.. I think we might just have to do both!!

I started with a plain {black tag} size No.8, stamped and inked the background word stamp from the {Papillon} Tim Holtz Rubber Stamp set onto the tag. I didn't mind the little white speckles as I thought they look like tiny stars and I wanted a shabby finish to the tag..

Next I stamped the Effel Tower stamp onto black Glitz Design Color Me Happy {Chalkboard} cardstock which has a nice chalky old fashioned blackboard appeal to it (I can see many uses for that paper!)

To finish off the tag I used a butterfly stamp from the {Papillon} set and stamped it onto Claudine Hellmuth's white {Sticky-Back Canvas} using {Jet Black} Archival ink pad and coloured the butterfly randomly with {Distress Stains} I also added tiny dots of Ranger Liquid Pearls in a line down the centre of the butterfly to create a body and added a flick of {Funky Fuchsia} Dylusions ink spray to add to the grunge effect!

The heart and words 'someday' were cut from Glitz Design Color Me Happy {cardstock}

Thank you for calling, I hope you like my tag ♥

Zumba REVEAL!

Good morning! I am delighted to share an art journal page with you today, I shared a little sneak peek on my blog the other day.. totally inspired by my newest venture to get fit!

This lil guy {Jammin} is me... each and every Wednesday afternoon.. (not this week though as I'm struggling with tonsilitis :( I can be found in the local gym!

Yes, I've joined in the Zumba craze... strange I can do the feet bit or the top half bit... but try and put them both together!!!!!

I'm NOT giving up, I WILL get it one day so I tend to dance like no one is watching..

My page is completed in one of the gorgeous (Moleskine} journals available in the shop over at a sprinkle of imagination.. I have used acrylic paints and oil pastels for the background and add some {Composer} tissue paper to the background.. I love how it just blended right into the background..

Jammin from {Stampotique Originals}was stamped onto white cardstock and coloured using {Inktense} and {Graphitint} pencils and water to activate the colours.. the spotty washi tape is one of my favourites from K&Co called Black dots.

Thank you for calling and remember anything is possible if you just believe..

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend!

I am heading off to the coast tomorrow to soak up some lovely sea air..  I am so badly in need!! Have a great weekend whatever your plans. Gez oxox

Stampotique Designer's Challenge 103 ~ Create from an envelope

It's time for a brand NEW challenge today over at the Stampotique Designer's Challenge. This week our hostess Val has got a fabulous challenge for you!

Val would like you to create something from an envelope..  I love the idea of using every day objects for art. This week, try creating an art project that incorporates an envelope - any shape or size, new or used. Just flip, fold, score, tear, ink, paint, stamp, doodle, embellish or keep it clean and simple - just have fun!

The Design Team have been very creative and have got some gorgeous inspiration to share with you.. here is what I created..

First of all, I coloured the corner of a white envelope using Distress Inks and stamped Bubbles with a Versamark ink pad and embossed the image using white embossing powder.. see below..

Here's a little tease of what I made.. have you guessed??

Brilliant, brilliant challenge Val.. I made a bookmark!

I stamped Carol's small flower onto patterned paper using Archival jet black ink.. cut out the flowers and added them onto the bookmark.. the tiny bee from off the side of the Medium Bee stamp was stamped directly onto the bookmark.. I added a small tab to the top edge of the bookmark by using the same colours of Distress Inks and stamping the word Pull from the Interactive cube.

I hope you like! The colours are so vibrant.

Thank you for calling, please pop on over to the Challenge blog to see lots more inspiration and join in the fun! Each week the challenges are open to all stamps and you can join any of the challenges throughout the month, at the end of the month 2 random lucky winners will each receive a $30 gift certificate to spend at the Stampotique store. Good luck.

  Happy creating, Gez oxox

If roses...

..grow in heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my mother's arms
And tell her they're from me.

Tell her that I love her and miss her,
And when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek
And hold her for awhile.

Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
But there's an ache within my heart
Because I am missing her today.

~♥~

A difficult day made a little easier by special friends out there in cyberspace..
A special Thank YOU, to everyone that calls by my blog and takes the time to leave me a message,
I know I don't always manage to call back straight away, but I do always promise to call soon!

Today, would have been my Mum's birthday.. it's been a tough day..
There was pink snow in the cemetery today!
Nature and the season's are always predominant when I call.. it takes my breathe away..

I am so grateful for the creativeness I share with so many of you, thank you for being YOU! xoxox

Great challenge, Vicki!

Here is what I got up to in my 10 minutes last Tuesday!
No such luck this week with the school holidays!!

I LOVE working with vibrant colours they make my muse sing!

Shabby vintage tag

I was delighted to share a tag with you over on the ASOI Creative blog yesterday and now I can share my tag with you here on my blog!

Lots of inky goodness went into making my tag, it's good for the creative muse!

I started with a plain No.8 Ranger manila tag and a couple of Distress ink to create the background.. (I must remember to take along the wayy pics.. being a midnight crafter the light is always poor!)

I stamped Midge onto vintage paper using jet black Archival ink. Used some scraps of music and patterned paper for the background and embellishments and machine stitched around the edges..

I then added some acrylic paint to help bond the different elements and used one of my most favourite, favourite stamps from Stampotique Originals..  Honeycomb background (8116) Here I swiped the stamp with a gold  Ranger Paint Dabber to add texture, making sure I cleaned the stamp as quickly as possible..

Thank you for calling today and stopping to look at my tag.. wishing everyone a lovely week.

 Happy creating, Gez oxox

A sprinkle of imagination ~ Reveal!

Better late than never.. not quite sure where this week has disappeared too.. is it just me this happens too?

I am delighted to be sharing a project with you that I made using a large Tim Holtz tag, some scrummy stamps & inks.. for A sprinkle of imagination.

here's a sneak peek!

For the base I used one of the large manilla No.8 {tags}

I squirted a generous blob of shaving foam onto my Ranger non stick {craft sheet}

and added a few blobs of Dr Ph. Martin's {Bombay Indian Inks} in Magenta & Teal

then set about swishing the tag through the foam..

To finish the background I added a few flicks of the Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze, fine glitter paint to add some sparkle in {Paradise Pink}

The gorgeous flower stamp brand NEW from Stampotique Originals is called Dandelion Duo, it was stamped using Aged Mahogany {Distress Ink} pad and coloured with a Derwent Graphitint pencil in {Autumn Brown}, once dry I added blobs of {Glossy Accents} to each flower. I then stamped Jo Capper-Sandon's {Big Bee} stamp onto the background, coloured the body of each bee with Bombay Inks and added acetate wings.

The sentiment (Wildflower verse) is another new design along with {Mothloved} from {Stampotique Originals} Please note.. Vicki can order any Stampotique stamps simply drop her a line, if you can't see just what you are looking for..

I finished the tag by hand stitching around the outside edge and running the chevron {roller doodle} from Glitz Design down the right hand side using {Jet Black} Archival Ink.

Many thanks for calling today. You will find lots more inspiration from the Design Team over on the Creative Blog.

 Happy creating, Gez xoxo

Stampotique Designers Challenge #97 ~ 3 Trimmed Images

It's time for a brand NEW challenge today over at the Stampotique Designers challenge blog and today sees the fabulous France setting our new challenge, here is what she has to say..

‘Don’t you just love all the details on Stampotique stamps? The best way to realize just how detailed they are is… by trimming them! And that’s our challenge this week: I’d like you to use (at least) 3 trimmed stamped images!
Up to you to use 3 times the same image or 3 different ones, to use them on a tag, a card, an altered object,…  I hope you find this as relaxing as I do!

Ps: sometimes you need to cheat a bit to get all the details. You can for instance cut off some details when trimming and make them visible again by stamping directly on your piece and sticking the trimmed image on top of the stamped image.’

Fab, fab challenge France! Here's my mini canvas..

Loved making this, special thanks to a very special lady called Tracey for sending me this gorgeous little blank canvas ♥

I had soooo much fun!

I love all the different textures and colours..

Stamps used: My Heart, Spider Wings and Fly Word

Many thanks for calling today and taking a look at my creation. Pop on over to the challenge blog to see lots more inspiration from the FABULOUS Design Team.. hope you can play along, remember each weeks challenges are open until the end of each month (Remember to add the challenge number along with your name to qualify) and two lucky entries will each win a $30 gift certificate to spend in Store.

Hope you can join in the fun. Good Luck for the draw.. Happy creating, Gez oxox

Ten Minute Tuesdays ~ challenge

I know it's Thursday.. I did make this on Tuesday, honest! I blogged a sneak peek & a reveal on the Challenge blog, and thought I would share the reveal on my blog too!

I did it!!! Well, after the 3rd attempt!!!! I took up Vicki's challenge {Ten Minute Tuesdays}

  harder than what you think!!

here's my tag..

Love, love, love working with these colours! I started with one of Tim Holtz's small Kraft tags and added some Picket Fence Tim Holtz Distress Paint with a dry brush.

I stamped one of the new sentiments from Stampotique Originals called Enjoy Today by Maria Sabina Raita (her stamps her the best!) I stamped the sentiment with Jet Black Archival Ink Pad from Ranger.

The tag was matted & layered using black cardstock and an off-cut of the gorgeous new paper from the Glitz Design Color Me Happy collection Stripe.

To finish off I stamped Dandelion Duo a couple of times, another new stamp from Stampotique Originals. Vicki can order any of the stamps for you and is awaiting delivery of the new designs.

The dandelions were given a coating of Glossy Accents (as you can see, as the photo was taken while it was still wet!)

A great challenge Vicki, perfect for during the school hols!! Thank you for calling and leaving a comment if you get the chance. Gez oxox

Megan Suarez Whimsy Girls Workshop

It's very rare these days that I get any time for myself, I know things are starting to finally calm down.. still along wayy to go on finding somewhere to store tons of boxes.. it's just a good job my daughter can't get home for Easter as her room is being used as temp storage! (I've had the sad task of breaking up my parents home & selling the family home that holds so many dear memories to me & the children, it's been heartbreaking :-(

Admist, the chaos.. a spark of hope! a release from ALL the tension & heartache.. one very special artist & lady Megan Suarez opened her very first online class Whimsy Girls (& it's still open for registration!

I have long, long, long admired Megan's drawing & avidly follow her on Youtube.. when I lost my Mum I went through a phase (of about 2 yrs!) of not sleeping and throughout the night would tune into Megan's channel so imagine my delight when I heard the news of Megan's class... I'm still dancing on the ceiling!!

In true Gezzyb style I am still really too busy to think about art & myself but I have stolen little bits of time to have a play! (I have been sharing snippets on Instagram... urgh.. and a photo of my finger... I really shouldn't have done that! lolol!! ... apologies if you follow my channel!!

Please be gentle with your comments, this is my first attempt! I did wonder whether to share as it's a first attempt but at the speed that I'm getting through things for 'me' it might be Christmas otherwise!!!! ......... and.......... Megan has her 2nd class ALL lined up..... and... I'm ALL signed up! :-))

  *HAPPY dancing!*

Many thanks for calling, life is precious.... follow your heart ♥
